I have always loved creating things. From a very young age I learned the incredible power of having any idea, any fantasy, any emotion come to life in a world of my own design. It was beautiful and intoxicating and I have never lost my love for creativity.
Over the years I have honed and developed my creative skills into an ability to bring ideas to life. In the process, I have learned that this ability helps others see the beauty and awe of imagination and creates in them a desire to learn and grow as people. Whether I am advertising a product or bringing an experience to life through my designs, each work is a unique moment and glimpse into the impossible. That is why I continue to have a deep love for what I do.

At Concordia Seminary I oversaw the development of several educational UX, produced in web form as well as independent applications using Adobe (Macromedia) Flash. I was also tasked with the production and development of branding for different educational resources including an internal portal for students and faculty, as well as print resources for different educational programs. In addition, I oversaw teams to develop educational resources as requested by staff.

I would imagine this might seem a bit odd to list as "work experience" in a design portfolio, but then again as a minister, I was a bit odd. In this role I was in charge of a small staff of educators that I managed in regard to the work of Christian education as well as the development of educational resources. These resources included branding and content development that was heavily driven by marketing strategies and clear communication. Each lesson was developed using the Adobe suite and laid out in a professional package with marketing materials, leader and student guides, and presentation assets to create an effective and professional learning tool. With new lessons being developed monthly, my skills in the use of the Adobe suite grew exponentially over that time.

Following my seven years in development of curriculum and education in the parish, I decided to invest my passions for education and design into a new company called The Concordia Association. This new company would develop creative educational materials in multiple mediums to promote faith based learning. From course development and teaching at Faith Christian High School, to the creation of a video series and podcasts, I oversaw and executed innovative ways to communicate the Christian message. I developed the branding for the company and all of its educational assets as well as all the marketing materials and website. From top to bottom I managed all projects and resources.

As Bethlehem Lutheran Church & School began to grow in their need for marketing, as well as internal and external communications, I stepped in to fill the void. Over the course of two years with Bethlehem I:

• Refreshed both the Bethlehem church and school brands with an updated look & feel for all physical and digital assets.
• Led a team of volunteers in the use of social media marketing and communication.

• Created video assets (bumpers, lower 3rds, titling, etc.) for internal and external video communications & educational programs.
